About Fran

I became a coach after a long career in academics. For me, being in the academic world was like being in a chocolate shop. I am a curious person, love to ask questions and look for answers. That's what drew me to research. My curiosity also inspired me to work with students as a college Dean. Young adults are full of questions themselves yet often aren't clear about their answers. Together we were curious, through listening and exploring they gained clarity and direction. What also inspired my research and student work was my desire to make a difference. Helping just one person not only can change their life but it is likely to have a ripple effect, producing positive change for others.

These two propensities, curiosity and wanting to make a difference, made me a perfect fit for coaching. I left academia and launched a new career as a co-active coach. I already had a doctorate in psychology but I wanted to be sure I was well prepared for my new pathway. I underwent intense training at the premier international coach training institute and received the distinction of Professional Certified Coach from the International Coach Federation. Oh, and did I say I hired my first coach? Since my initial training, I have actively pursued professional development in coaching and leadership. This nurtures my own desire for creativity and excellence.

I opened my practice in 2004 and have been privileged to coach a wide range of individuals. My clients have included corporate leaders, bankers, professors, musicians and artists, writers and playwrights, coaches and educators, designers and architects, physicians and psychiatrists, rabbis and ministers, medical and professional school students, and individuals who are just starting or are in between occupations.

I am curious about you. Send me an email or give me a call at (314) 787-8171.
